Queer as F**k Series 1

Queer As Fxxk was co-created by X:MACHINE Productions, The Burnet Institute, Victorian AIDS Council and The University of Melbourne. The project began as research into the uses of social networking in relation to sexual health messages.

Queer as F**k is an online interactive narrative that follows the lives of five fictional gay men in a shared house located in Collingwood, Melbourne.  Peter, Brendan and Aaron live together in the house; whilst Davo (Brendan’s mate) and Daniel (Aaron’s boyfriend) make regular appearances.

Throughout the narrative, the drama in the lives of these five men is posted online through 10 short film clips, uploaded onto Facebook approximately every two weeks. These ten episodes introduce the characters; display the consequences of drug use & unsafe sex practices; address HIV misconceptions; introduce NPEP (non-occupational post-exposure prophylaxis used after high-risk behaviour); discuss issues such as safety in relationships  and ‘coming out of the closet’; and provide entertainment to attract more online followers and encourage them to interact with our project.
