Fanny Hanusin is an Indonesian performer and singer, who has been involved in Australian theatre since 1999. She held a Graduate Diploma in Animateuring (2005) and Bachelor of Creative Arts (1999-2001) from the Victorian College of the Arts. Her work utilises various skills ranging from clowning, vocal improvisations to Viewpoints performance technique. In 2003, she received Green Room Award for her performance in Hospital of the Lost Coin and the Vanishing Box (La Mama).
Her past productions include Transit (2004), The True Adventures of A Soul Lost At Sea (2004), Beyond the Gate of Heavenly Peace (2001), and a bilingual solo, Pempek in 2003 Indonesian Arts Festival.
In 2005, she devised Mapping Malin that interweaved an Indonesian folktale with Australian migrant stories. She has also performed with The Torch Project in Faith (2006) and The Con (2007), where she worked closely with Wesley Church community (Big Issue, Lifeline) and Laverton Community Centre.
Upcoming production is a return season of 2005 Wal Cherry Play of the Year, Asylum (2008 VCE Playlist). Currently, she is developing Serial Blogger, a digital storytelling and performance installation, with x:machine artists’ ensemble.
